Building intelligent forms using Adobe LiveCycle Designer

Thank You for the Invaluable Feedback

Fellow Readers and Subscribers,

I wanted to take the time to thank you all for the encouragement and invaluable feedback you’ve provided me through this blog over the past 18 months (and more in the Designer Forums). I’ve done my best to relay your comments, suggestions and requests to the various teams that produce the technology you use in products related to XFA form authoring and filling and I know it has had a positive impact!

Over the past year, as I’ve been working to develop this blog, I’ve also been working hard with my wife to help start her new women’s fashion company, The Beautiful Pear. As you all know (or can imagine), responsibilities increase as a new business grows and since I consider The Beautiful Pear a top priority, I am no longer able to keep-up with both projects outside of my responsibilities as a Computer Scientist at Adobe.

As such, I’ve closed commenting on all previous posts but I have left the various articles and tutorials online so that you and new visitors can use them as resources for your projects. Thankfully, the Designer Team will continue to post about using Designer on the new Designer Team blog.

Should you have questions to ask, I would encourage you to post them to one of the following Adobe Forums, as is appropriate:

Another great spot to post questions to is the Adobe Acrobat User Community site’s Ask an Expert tool and if you’ve exhausted all possible workarounds, you can always log a feature request or bug report directly with Adobe.

I wish you all good luck with your projects and I may, from time to time, see you on the forums or at the AUC!

    Stefan,

Thank you so much for all of the time you’ve put into the various forums and tutorials. Your site has been an invaluable tool – without it we probably wouldn’t have entered the LiveCycle space. The effort you’ve made to arrange for other members of the LiveCycle team to respond to queries / suggestions has been outstanding.

Thanks again and good luck with The Beautiful Pear,
    John.

    Hi Stefan,

I have read your article about instance manager. I tried to get the mimimum requirements for Acrobat 7.0.
Could you tell me it is Acrobat professional or standard?

    Thanks,
    Michelle

    Michelle Hong,

There are 7 posts flagged under the Instance Manager category so I’m not quite sure which one you’re referring to however I’m guessing that you would be OK with Acrobat Standard 7.0 since it’s capable of importing form data just like the Pro version is.
