Acrobat 9.1 Security Patch Now Available

Everyone using Acrobat/Reader 9.0 (on both Windows and Mac) should now upgrade to the just-released 9.1 version which includes a number of bug fixes as well as a fix to a critical security vulnerability. The link has information about the vulnerability that has been addressed in the patch as well as links to the downloads for each flavor (Win, Mac, Reader, Pro, Extended…). Updates to earlier versions of Acrobat/Reader are also available.

9.1 update failed. I’m not sure how to solve the problem.

    charles krause,

I would try manually installing the update rather than using Acrobat’s built-in update mechanism. I’ve seen that fail in the past. The link I provided in this post has links to the 9.1 update download. Download it and try installing it manually.

I’m having the same problem installing the newest patch that was released yesterday or today (01/13/2010). I tried downloading the update from the Adobe website (without using the Updater), also tried installing from a new administrator account with no success. Any suggestions? Thanks for your kind help.

    augman,

Sorry, I don’t have any other suggestions if neither an automated nor a manual installation function properly.
